The more you get to know me you will realise I love a bargain and I’m always on the look out of ways to save you money! That’s why today I’m so happy as we will be learning how to get more customers without spending a penny! Welcome to the Mum to Millionaire family our guest – Nim Rainu – a multiple business owner, Mum of 2 (and one on the way – congrats!)

One of Nim’s businesses is a successful hair and make up company – she is fully booked every weekend and guess what!? She has never actively promoted her business or spent a penny on marketing.

 5 WAYS HOW TO GET MORE CUSTOMERS

 

1) GET YOUR PRICE RIGHT

When Nim started out her hair and make up business she charged a VERY low price. Because of her pricing structure, Nim has got more customers as repeat business – Don’t forget to keep your current customers happy or they WILL go elsewhere.

How to run a business around your kids

 

Charging a low price works for Nim, for her business and in her industry but just see what works for you. Business is all about trail and error – so research what your customers / potential customers would pay.

As Nim points out be realistic with your level of expertise, skills and the industry you work in – charge a lower price than your competitors at first to draw new customers in BUT still offer a great service / product.

 

2) BE HONEST

Be totally honest about what you can and can’t do – this builds rapport with customers and avoids bad reviews! If you’re honest from the start, customers know what to expect.

For make up artists – If you haven’t done someones hair styling in a particular photo then be honest about it!

 

3) BE YOUR OWN ADVERTISING

I LOVE THIS TIP!!!

Be your brand – Nim is a make up artist so on the school run she always looks great. I barely wear make up on the school run and most of the time I wear no make up at all in the mornings as I go straight to the gym (I don’t want my pores to get clogged with make up whilst I am sweating!!)

We are not saying you must look incredible 100% of the time (as you can see from my example) Nim is showing everyone what she can do by ‘wearing’ her brand. Think about your business….what could you do?

If you make jewelry – then wear YOUR OWN jewelry! If people like it, they will ask you where it is from – then you can say you made it, great promo for your business. This is a great free marketing tip and a sure fire way to get more customers through your daily everyday routine.

ANOTHER GREAT EXAMPLE OF HOW TO GET MORE CUSTOMERS:

I know a Dad who owns a restaurant – when he does the school run or goes to the gym he wears a branded jumper with the restaurants logo and number.

I heard some people overtalking at the gym looking at the jumper and then saying – I love that restaurant, I’m going to order food from there tonight – It really does work.

 

4) ALWAYS GIVE THAT LITTLE BIT EXTRA

Give your customers more than they expected – It could be something very simple like if you have a cake business – giving an extra cupcake for free.

If you’re a make up artist – helping the customer with her dress or letting her keep the hair pins

The simple, little things count.

 

5) WORD OF MOUTH

All of the points mentioned above all lead to the cheapest and best form of marketing, which will always get you more customers – Referrals

If you’ve done a great job, charged a good price, did more than expected, looked and acted professional you WILL get repeat business and gain new customers from recommendations from your existing customers
